Groundbreak Georgia
About

Why Groundbreak Georgia exists.

Georgia’s specialty trade contractors — the crews who clear land, grade it, pave it, pour concrete, run erosion control, and set fence — don’t have a single reliable place to see what work is coming down the pipe. The data exists. It’s in county permit offices and the Georgia Procurement Registry. It just isn’t in one place. Until now.

§ 01 · The product

Two briefs a week. Plus a live dashboard for paid subscribers.

Every Tuesday morning we ship a focused brief covering all 6 Georgia metro regions — Atlanta, Macon, Columbus, Augusta/CSRA, Savannah, and Albany (80+ counties). Top new commercial permits, top open bids, and a short read on what this week means for your trade. Thursdays, Premium subscribers get land-disturbance filings and early signals — the stuff that turns into work 30 to 120 days out. Premium and Pro subscribers also see contractor names and contact info in every issue, plus the full live feed on app.groundbreak.work.

§ 02 · Who runs it

A Georgia firm, built by people who've watched too many missed bids.

Groundbreak Georgia is a product of G. Douglas Communications, LLC — a Georgia communications firm serving political, public affairs, and infrastructure clients. We built this after years of watching good contractors miss bids they would have been a natural fit for, simply because no one told them in time.

§ 03 · How the data gets to you

Real records. Real scoring. A person on the line.

Permits

Pulled nightly from a national permit intelligence API that covers Georgia counties in real time, then cross-checked against local jurisdiction systems.

Bids

Scraped directly from the Georgia Procurement Registry — state agencies, school boards, counties, and authorities — filtered to construction trades. For GDOT-specific lettings, pair us with BidX.

Scoring

Every job scored 0–100 on project value, trade match, deadline, and location. The highest-scoring items show up first.

Human review

A real person reads every issue before it goes out. No bot-generated spam, no broken links, no wrong phone numbers.
